Miss Brainerd/Miss Baxter "Cake Off"

So this last Saturday I was able to attend, and be apart of the Miss Brd/Miss Bxt "Cake Off". All of the Contestants for Brd/Bxt Pageant paired up and were competing in a cake decorating event, along with a few Miss MN contestants as well. It was a lot of fun! The girls were very competative... Here are the contestants cakes....
Team 1: And the winner of the "Cake of The Lakes" Award

"Peoples Choice" Award

Now for the Miss MN contestants cakes....

Our Teen Title Holders even got to compete!

After the decorating, judging, speaking, and cake eating was all said and done with, som of the royalty decided to see what a hurrican would feel like...so we squeezed 8....lets say that again, "8" queens into a hurricane similator, to find out that it wasn't working. :(

All in all though it was a great time! The Miss Brd/Miss Bxt Pageant raised some money, The contestants and Miss MN girls got to speak to the public about themselves, the organization and CMN, oh and of course eat cake!!! It was a BLAST!!!

Too Long.....

My oh My it has been a while since I posted, super busy.....what have I been up to.

Lets start with my platform, I have donated roughly 400 inches this year to Locks of Love. I have a box that I have picked up from a local salon that collected hair for me that has about 600 inches of hair in it!!! :) So I made my goal i set for myself this year. However, I am now increasing it to 2,000 inches!! Lets see how far I get in these last few months before Miss Minnesota!!

I have attended workshop...which was an interesting one this year. We have a new state board now! Hopefully it is a good year! I have a wonderful roomate, Miss Brittany Tischmack!! I also know what number I am in competition.....18!! Not bad! The teen pageant that night went soooo well! We had 3 girls from Brainerd Competing, Savannah Cole, Bailey Wachholz, and Molly West! Savannah captured first runner up and the lovely Bailey Won Miss Minnesotas Outstanding Teen!!!! Brainerd represents fantastically!!! :)

I have been volunteering for Ruby's Pantry here and there when I have time! What a great group!

I will be hosting a fundraiser at Pizza Ranch on May 23! Sooo excited about that. All proceeds go to CMN!

I will also be hosting a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings every Wednesday in May! Very excited for those events, again, all proceeds go to CMN!

A lot in a little bit of time......I will surelly jump on here much more now that pageant week is aproaching! Until then.....

Ruby's Pantry

It was  few weeks ago, but I am finally updating. I volunteered at Ruby's Pantry which is very similar to a food shelf, but they feed anyone who eats. There is no income guidlines and is not a hand out but a hand up! It was so much fun!!! Take a look........

Optimist Club

So I have been really busy finishing up with school, so it has been hard to update.

About 2 weeks ago I was invited to speak at the new Optimist Club here in Brainerd. I was able to tell them about my platform (Locks of Love), CMN, and the Miss America Organization. It was started about two weeks before I spoke and there, so far, there are about 6 members. Hailey VanSteenwyk (Miss Baxter) was also able to speak for the group the week before I did. It was a small meeting, close quarters, but easy to speak because it was a very relaxing setting. It was fun to see that there are new clubs coming to the Brainerd area! I wish the Optimist Club good luck! And thank you!!

Starting out....

So I finally had the time to set up my blog. So since I was crowned, I have started school, was a part of Miracle Treat Day 2011, walked in a march to end Womens Violence and attended a couple local pageants. So where do I begin.....

Miracle Treat Day 2011,

This was my first event as Miss South Central 2011. I wasnt' able to be apart of the day at Waseca's local DQ but I was apart of it in Brainerd, where I'm from. Miss Brainerd, Rebecca Yeh and Miss Baxter, Hailey Van Steenwyk were also there with me! We raised about $165 in 2 hours all to be donated to Children's Miracle Network.

This Little girl LOVED our sparkly crowns!!

This Girl is a CMN Kid!! Very cool to meet her and see where the money we raise really goes!! She was excited to get a picture with us.

The owners of DQ, they were so happy we were there to help promote Miracle Treat Day

I totally got him to buy a Blizzard to help out CMN!! Thanks Dex! :)

March to end Womens Violence,

I was asked to walk in a march to end womens violence on October 19th. This was the first year for the walk, but they hope to bring it back every year. It was a really neat event. A group of people, whoever wanted to be apart of it, joined in front of the courthouse to walk to gregory park, to show the community we care and we are here to help. The State Representative John Ward was there and spoke on behalf of the men, women, and children who suffered from the violence. Some of the community law enforcement was there also, to help name off the people who have passed due to violence. When all was said and done we all took and oath to help stop violence in our community and we all signed a petition. We did this all at night because we walked with candles so I didnt get to many pictures. :(

Miss North Metro 2011,

This has been the only local pageant I have been to as Miss South Central 2011 due to a hecktic schedule. It was great to be there so support all my girls, yes my girls, I knew each and everyone and wanted them all to win. It is also fun because you get to see who you will be competing against and also catch up with other title holders. Local pageants are a blast!

Local title holders, we always have a fun and goofy picture

Congrats to Mary Petersen, Miss North Metro 2011
